Took ownership of Atlassian’s Targeting Platform (in addition to existing Engagement Platform responsibilities), broadening scope of my role to encompass data-powered personalisation of Cloud product experiences.

Targeting Platform is bespoke built, high scale (billions of API calls per day), low latency (measured in milliseconds) platform to provide data to Atlassian’s cloud products.

Targeting Platform will also act as the center of Atlassian’s trait and audience building infrastructure, enabling delivery of high fidelity experiences consistently across the funnel and customer lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead team of engineers and analysts to create and operate a bespoke targeting platform including high scale data ingestion and retrieval, and audience evaluation capabilities
  • Set vision and define strategy for the product
  • Sell vision of platform to senior leadership team (C-Suite) around company

Worked on projects covering middle office (risk management), and back office (Stock Borrow Loan and trade settlements), for all active strategies on the desk. Primary trading strategies on the desk were low frequency and medium frequency (algo-assisted), with high frequency strategies coming on-line as I was leaving this role.

Worked with a remote engineering team based in Singapore for data pipelining and warehousing requirements.

Business Analyst supporting Macquarie’s UK Wrap product, based in Bristol. UK Wrap was Macquarie’s independent financial advisor platform for the UK market, providing access to a suite of internal Macquarie products, research and reporting capabilities.

Role was primarily focused on analysing existing system data quality issues, working with our local engineering team to attempt to remediate, and working with an external design agency to ready UK Wrap 2.0 for public release (revised user experience).
